MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two would-be robbers who ran into a man who refused to be victimized.
The two may have committed a robbery earlier that night in Edmonds.
A 57-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were walking from their vehicle to their room at the Homestead Village motel in the 6000 block of 244th Street SW about 9:15 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Mark Connor said.
As they started to open the door, a man pointed a handgun at the man, telling him to "give me everything you’ve got," Connor said.
The would-be victim refused, and the gunman called his partner, who joined them at the door and the two demanded the victim’s wallet, but he again refused, Connor said. The two robbers fled on foot.
Connor described the would-be victim as "very lucky" because the robber could have shot him.
Both were described as black, about 5-feet-10-inches tall, 170 pounds and clean shaven. Their descriptions were similar to two men who robbed an Edmonds man after he got off a bus in Edmonds shortly before the incident in Mountlake Terrace.
