LYNNWOOD — He was sleeping on his couch Tuesday morning when two robbers slipped into his home.
“I woke up to two men standing over me with ski masks and guns,” Brian Boyce said.
The intruders tied him up, slipped a nylon bag over his head and ransacked his home, said Boyce, 29.
They used a stun gun to zap Boyce in the shoulder and leg, he said.
Now, Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies are looking for the two armed men who barged into the Lynnwood-area home.
Just after 11 a.m. the robbers entered the home in the 16600 block of 48th Avenue W., Snohomish County sheriff’s Lt. Steve Dittoe said.
The two men demanded cash and access to a home safe, Dittoe said.
Boyce said he doesn’t have a safe.
“I felt helpless,” he said. “They wanted this thing from me and there was no thing here.”
The robbers took electronics and other valuables from Boyce’s home, he said. They also fled in one of his cars, a red Toyota Celica with a Washington license plate of either 524 KZI or 982 XHD.
“If anyone sees that car, I want them to call 911,” Dittoe said.
Boyce said he tinkers with used cars. Several vehicles filled his yard.
Both of the robbery suspects are described as white; one is believed to be in his 30s. They are considered armed and dangerous, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
Sheriff’s officials said the incident likely is not related to a similar home-invasion robbery in Snohomish last week.
In that case, a Snohomish woman was tied up in her home Thursday. The suspects there were described as two men, one white, one black. No arrests have been made.
Boyce, who wasn’t otherwise harmed, said he’ll be more careful now. He said he’ll make sure his doors are locked and keep an eye open for anything suspicious.
Still, the incident has left him feeling unsettled.
“I’m scared,” Boyce said. “But I’m not going to leave my kingdom, my castle. I’m not going to let them win.”
