MUKILTEO — Dino Rossi, one of the hottest names in Republican political circles, came to Mukilteo on Saturday to help first-time Republican candidate Elizabeth Scott’s campaign for the state Legislature.
“We were quite honored he contacted us,” said Scott, a Republican who draws strong support from those in the Tea Party movement. The seat is held by Rep. Marko Liias, D-Edmonds.
She described Rossi as “very enthusiastic” and said he did not talk much about his candidacy for U.S. Senate. Rather he focused on the budget troubles facing the state and the nation.
Rossi had not been the featured guest originally. Scott said he got in touch with organizers a couple days before the event that was attended by about 75 people.
