SNOHOMISH — No one was injured when the engine of a recreational vehicle caught fire Saturday afternoon on Highway 9, State Patrol spokeswoman said.
The vehicle was northbound on the highway just north of the intersection with U.S. 2. The blaze could be seen for miles and all lanes of Highway 9 were blocked off for a short time just before 3 p.m.
Fire crews had the fire out quickly and state troopers controlled the fire scene, which attracted a crowd of onlookers.
What caused the fire was not immediately available, the spokeswoman said.
