BELLEVUE — A grocery store employee stabbed a shoplifting suspect in a confrontation Wednesday night in Bellevue, police said.
The employee confronted the 37-year-old suspect inside a downtown Safeway store and chased him to a parking lot where they fought, police said. The suspect was stabbed multiple times. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.
The employee returned to the store and was questioned by investigators.
KIRO reported the suspect was believed to be shoplifting liquor.
