MARYSVILLE – An Everett-based sailor is behind bars, accused of breaking into a the room of a woman he supervised and hitting her with a handgun.
The man, 26, is stationed on the USS Monson. He was jailed Friday in lieu of $150,000 bail. The potential charges included burglary, assault, harassment and unlawful imprisonment, according to documents filed in Everett District Court.
The man was arrested just before midnight Thursday after a woman called 911 from the front desk of Eagles Nest Inn, part of Navy housing in the 13900 block of 45th Avenue NE in Marysville.
She told Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies that she was in her room with a friend when the man came looking for her, according to court papers.
The man was her supervisor on the Monson, and the two had been in an intimate relationship, she told police.
The man started pounding on her door. She called his cell phone and he answered, and she asked him to leave her alone. Instead, she said, he broke down her door.
The man then stormed into the room and fired a gun in the direction of her friend, she said. The shot went wide. Then he beat her with the gun, put the muzzle to her head and threatened to kill both her and her friend, the woman told deputies.
The woman got away and called 911 after the man released her while he began attacking her friend, she said.
The man left, and deputies arrested him when he returned to his apartment, according to court papers.
