Schools earn active awards

Beverly Elementary School and Sherwood Elementary School each received 2017 Active Schools Let’s Move! National Awards. Physical education teachers Thomas Davis and Patricia Thain, respectively, led their schools’ efforts.

The award is the nation’s top physical education and physical activity distinction for K-12 schools. It celebrates a school’s commitment to integrating at least 60 minutes of physical activity before, during and after the school day.
