“There’s sports going on. … WASL is coming up. WASL’s pretty easy, not nervous about that. I’m more nervous about the SAT.”

Mukilteo seeks parents’ feedback
The Mukilteo School District is asking parents for some insight.
The district has mailed out surveys asking parents what they think of their child’s school.
Questions include whether parents have a positive impression of the school, if they feel welcome at the school, how they get their information about the school and whether their child feels challenged in class.
The same survey has been conducted for the past several years so the school district can identify trends.
Surveys can be returned to the child’s school or mailed to the district office, 9401 Sharon Drive, Everett, WA 98204. Parents can also complete a survey online through the district’s Internet site, www.mukilteo.wednet.edu.

Johnson was in Darrington Monday. Winters will visit Wednesday and Chaplik on Friday.
Monroe stadium work to begin soon
Construction is to start next month on a new athletic stadium at Monroe High School.
School board members recently approved bids to install a new all-weather turf field and covered bleachers. The $2.4 million project is the last piece of a $21.8 million bond issue approved by voters in 2003 that also funded construction of Fryelands Elementary School.
Board members also approved two alternate bids of $123,714 to build visitor bleachers and $17,496 to install longer-lasting resin floors.
The school hopes to use the improved stadium by the start of the next school year.
