Schools across Snohomish County honored veterans leading up to the Nov. 11 Veterans Day holiday.
The Everett High School Navy Junior ROTC visited Brookdale Everett to present certificates of appreciation to residents of the care facility who served in the U.S. military.
Northshore Christian Academy in Everett held a special chapel service. The student orchestra performed. Cub Scout Pack 777 presented flags in a formal ceremony and handed out thank-you cards to veterans in the crowd. Pastor Greg Schafnitz shared with students about his 23 years of service in the U.S. Navy.
At St. Thomas More Catholic School in Lynnwood, Vietnam veteran and artist Michael Reagan shared his story of creating free portraits of fallen service members for their families. First-, second- and third-grade students hosted the event and shared “thank you” artwork.
