Since 1987, the Everett Public Schools Foundation has presented the Superintendent’s Scholar Awards in recognition of outstanding scholarship and inspirational teaching. To be considered for the award, candidates must be in the top 5 percent of their graduating class or have scored in the top 5 percent of seniors who have taken the Scholastic Aptitude Test.

Counselors at each high school select four representatives from those who have applied. The students are then interviewed by a community selection committee designated by the Everett Public Schools Foundation where one student from each school is chosen.
