Here is a list of organizations that will pick up Christmas trees for recycling, and also locations where you can drop off your tree:
Arlington: Boy Scout Troop 29 will pick up trees in the greater Arlington area from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Drop off a tree from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, 120 N. Olympic Ave. Donations are gladly accepted.
Edmonds: Lake Washington Baseball Foundation Mickey Mantle 16’s will pick up trees in the Edmonds area Saturday. They will come to your house and gather trees, free of decorations, for a $10 donation. Call Karen Cooper at 425-771-4561 or leave a message with name, address and phone number to verify the pickup date and time.
Everett: Boy Scout Troop 23 will collect Christmas trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the fire station at 6801 Beverly Blvd. A donation of $5 is suggested.
Everett/Eastmont area: Boy Scouts from Troop 18 will pick up Christmas trees for recycling Saturday. They will serve about 1,200 homes in the Eastmont area north of 100th Street SE and east of 19th Avenue SE, and in the area bounded by Seventh Avenue SE, SE Everett Mall Way, I-5 and Highway 526. Leave trees at the curb by 9 a.m. Saturday. Folks in those areas will receive a reminder note and an envelope for donations.
Everett/Lynnwood: Boy Scout Troop 114 accepts trees for recycling from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Jan. 6 at Home Depot, 11915 Highway 99; Albertson’s, 520 128th St. SW; Cost Cutter Foods, 10011 Evergreen Way; and at Food Emporium, 13619 Mukilteo Speedway in Lynnwood. No flocked trees or trees with tinsel.
Everett/View Ridge: Boy Scouts of Troop 112 will recycle Christmas trees from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the View Ridge area. Put trees on the curb by 9 a.m. or drop off a tree from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday next to View Ridge Elementary School at 110 50th St. SW in Everett. Find the collection truck at that address. A donation of $8 for summer camp activities is suggested.
Lake Stevens: Boy Scout Troops 41, 183, 187 and 222 will continue their tradition of picking up Christmas trees Saturday. If you are in a collection area, you should receive a flier on your doorknob. If you receive a flier, put your tree on the curb by 10 a.m. No tree stands or tinsel on trees will be accepted. You may drop off trees from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pilchuck Elementary School, 12806 20th St. NE in Lake Stevens, or Lake Stevens Middle School, 1031 91st Ave. SE in Everett. Give donations to Scouts or mail it in the envelope.
Lake Stevens: Boy Scout Troop 192 will pick up trees Saturday in the area south of Lake Stevens around Machias Cutoff and 20th Avenue SE.
Maltby: Boy Scout Troop 39 of Maltby will pick up your Christmas trees Sunday in the Maltby area, approximately east of Highway 9, north of the King-Snohomish county line, west of Welch Road and south of 180th Street SE. Have trees at the curb by 1 p.m. Donations of $5-$10 can be mailed to BSA Troop 39, P.O. Box 2390, Woodinville, WA 98072. No wreaths or flocked trees.
Marysville: Boy Scouts in Marysville will collect trees in neighborhoods and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Jennings Park, 6915 Armar Road.
Mountlake Terrace: Bring your tree and a $5 donation, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, to Cornerstone Christian School, 5102 236th St. SW, lower parking lot.
Snohomish County: Drop off trees at transfer stations, $5, in Arlington, Everett or Mountlake Terrace during regular hours.
