SEATAC – Concourses at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport were evacuated following a security breach today.
A food-service worker passed through a checkpoint without being properly screened, said airport spokesman Bob Parker.
The woman had been asked to see a guard with a hand-held metal detector, but instead boarded a train headed to the concourses. Parker said it may have been a misunderstanding.
She was caught quickly, but because she was momentarily out of view of the guards, all passengers were called back to the main terminal, where they could be screened again, Parker said.
