EDMONDS — Two Edmonds School District campuses were placed in lockdown Monday afternoon while police tried to track down a burglary suspect, officials said.
Police were called to the 8100 block of Bowdoin Way around 1:10 p.m. after someone returned home and noticed a door that had been locked was standing open, police said.
A neighbor observed someone run from the area of the house while police were on their way.
Edmonds officers requested help from the Everett Police Department, which had a police dog available to try to track the suspect.
Chase Lake Elementary and Edmonds-Woodway High schools were locked down for about 45 minutes largely to keep the tracking area clear.
A 30-minute search failed to turn up a suspect.
