PORTLAND — Authorities have resumed looking for the body of a 14-year-old girl on a Portland hill.
Portland police said Saturday they hope to expand the size of the search force on Rocky Butte for Yashawnee Vaughn. It began Friday with about 80 volunteers.
A 16-year-old boy, Parrish Bennette, pleaded not guilty Friday to a a manslaughter charge. Police say they believe Vaughn was killed March 19.
Rocky Butte is an extinct volcanic cinder cone with steep, wooded slopes rising a few hundred feet above northeast Portland.
