SEATTLE — Five managers for the contractors building a new floating bridge in Seattle have been suspended without pay after a TV station’s investigation caught office workers drinking on the job.
The Kiewit company suspended two senior project managers and a senior vice president. It says its partner, Manson Construction, suspended a jobsite manager and vice president.
KOMO-TV hidden cameras caught workers last month drinking on the job.
Kiewit spokesman Tom Janssen said Thursday that its investigation found alcohol consumption did occur sporadically at the end of work days.
In addition to the suspensions, Kiewit said other employees may receive training or letters of counseling in their personnel files.
Kiewit-General-Manson is building a new Highway 520 floating bridge under a $587 million contract.
