SEATTLE — Seattle Police Chief John Diaz is reminding officers not to drink and drive.
In a memo to the entire department, Diaz says officers who are stopped should expect the same sanctions as other drunken drivers. In addition they face lost pay and demotion. After a second DUI offense, an officer is fired.
KOMO-TV reported at least 11 police department employees have been investigated in the past year for drunken driving.
