EDMONDS — A Seattle man was arrested Wednesday for investigation of a March 5 robbery that left another man injured at an Edmonds motel.
The 22-year-old is suspected of robbery, burglary and assault.
The suspect and two others went into a room where a 42-year-old man was staying at Andy’s Motel.
The victim was hit over the head with a brick, according to a probable cause affidavit. The suspect also reportedly cut the man with a machete, police said. The victim told officers he was robbed at gunpoint of $600, his computer and cell phone.
He chased the intruders outside where they fired guns in his direction. Surveillance footage recorded four shots.
The robbers ran toward Highway 99.
Police said the Seattle man was initially booked into King County Jail for an unrelated warrant. An Edmonds police detective listened to recordings of phone calls he made from jail. He contacted others suspected of helping in the robbery.
A woman was picked up by police in Oregon after she reportedly tried to get out of town.
