EVERETT — A Seattle man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly breaking his former girlfriend’s nose, kidnapping her at knife-point, taking her car and then crashing it during a high speed chase along I-5 into Seattle.
The Feb. 23 chase began after the woman got away near Mill Creek and Jones took off in her Saturn Vue sport utility vehicle, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Matt Baldock said in court papers.
Tiron Wendell Jones, 42, committed second-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery and attempting to elude police, Baldock said Thursday in Snohomish County Superior Court papers.
The chase reached speeds of 100 mph, and ended with a rollover crash along I-5, south of Northgate.
Jones already has 13 felony convictions, although most are for crimes involving drugs and theft, and don’t count as “strikes” under the state’s persistent offender law. He also has 25 adult misdemeanors.
