Seattle man who died while kayaking on Skykomish River ID’d

GOLD BAR — A Seattle man who died kayaking on the Skykomish River was identified Tuesday.

Richard W. Timpson, 31, drowned while going through the Boulder Drop rapids Saturday. His friend brought him onto the shore and attempted CPR, but couldn’t revive him.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office called his death an accident.
