SEATTLE — Seattle police said a 19-year-old man wounded by an officer had raised a gun toward the officer and refused to drop it.
It happened about 2 a.m. Monday in Pritchard Beach Park, about a half hour after the man was suspected of wounding an occupant of a south Seattle apartment.
An officer with a police dog was checking the park when he saw the suspect. Police say he was walking toward the officer with the gun when he was shot. He’s in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The man wounded at the apartment is in serious condition at the hospital. Police say the 34-year-old was hit in the stomach and hand by shots fired into the door by a man who had asked for him by name.
