A Snohomish County Superior Court jury Friday could not reach a unanimous decision in the case of a Seattle police officer accused of felony harassment and burglary in a June 28 incident at his former wife’s home in Mill Creek.
Judge Ronald Castleberry declared a mistrial because the jury was deadlocked.
Deputy prosecutor George Appel said he intends to seek a new trial for Felton Joseph Miles, 50.
Prosecutors alleged that Miles, of Monroe, burst into his ex-wife’s home in the 16200 block of 32nd Avenue SE and threatened a man who was visiting her. The couple was divorced in 2006.
According to court documents, Miles came into the home unannounced and headed for the man. Prosecutors allege he threatened the man.
The visitor told Mill Creek officers he was afraid when Miles threatened to kill him, according to charging papers.
