SEATTLE — Seattle police say a 13-year-old boy accused of stealing a loaded antique gun from his grandmother’s house has been arrested. A nearby middle school was briefly locked down as a precaution.
Detective Renee Witt says the grandmother called police Wednesday morning to say her grandson had taken the gun — a German Luger — and left the house.
Eckstein Middle School was temporarily locked down.
Officers located and arrested the boy for investigation of theft.
A witness who reportedly saw the teen hide the gun in some bushes helped police locate it.
