ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A Washington state law school is planning a program that will allow Alaska students to spend their third year of studies in their home state.
The Anchorage Daily News reports Seattle University School of Law is planning a satellite campus in Anchorage starting in 2015. Third-year law classes would be held at Alaska Pacific University.
The plan will need the approval of the American Bar Association.
Alaska is the only state without a law school.
Alaska Bar Association executive director Deborah O’Regan says the program may make it easier for some Alaskans to decide to start a legal career.
Tuition at Seattle University’s law school costs about $41,000 annually.
