SEATTLE – A second woman has died of injuries from the crash of a church van that was returning to Seattle from a Labor Day outing in Vancouver, B.C.
Elaine Y. Hu, 54, of Shoreline, died Sept. 7 at Harborview Medical Center after six days in a coma. Her husband, Stephen H. Hu, 55, escaped serious injury.
The Hus were among 15 Chinese Baptist Church members in a van that blew its left rear tire and overturned Sept. 1 on I-5 near 136th Street NE in Marysville. Jean L. Eng, 77, Seattle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger, Elsie A. Lee, 48, of Bellevue, was released Saturday from Harborview after being treated for head injuries.
All 15 were wearing seat belts and there was no indication the driver had exceeded the 70 mph speed limit, state patrol investigators said.

Body of missing Bellevue hunter found: The body of a 79-year-old Bellevue hunter, missing since Sept. 4, has been found, Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers said Monday. Searchers recovered the body of Norton Smith on Saturday about three miles northwest of Tiffany Springs Campground, where Smith was last seen, the sheriff said. Smith may have suffered a stroke and apparently was unable to walk, but survived at least five days, Rogers said. The experienced hunter and outdoorsman apparently dragged himself 20 yards to a site that would be more visible to searchers. Dozens of volunteers, including members of a Bellevue hunting group, joined the nine-day search, Rogers said.
