50 years ago (1958)
George Pendleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Pendleton, was among the 207 cadets who received diplomas and certificates of completion at New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
John Pedigo of Everett was among the pupils of Virgie McDonald to play the piano in a recital in Balcom and Vaughn Concert Hall in Seattle. He had entered the National Guild auditions for four years and this was his third year to play 10 memorized pieces with the technical requirements. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Pedigo.
25 years ago (1983)
At precisely 11:30 a.m. on June 13, Mike Henry, dressed in beige sports jacket and western shirt, would climb to the top of a sky-blue podium, look out over a room filled with long tables and 1,420 chairs, and in a deep, resonant voice, call out a letter and number. That would begin the first game in the Tulalip Tribes new $3.5 million entertainment center.
Keith Knudson of Lynnwood completed his second year at the Air Force Academy by earning a place on the Superintendent’s List for both academic and military proficiency. He was named a pistol instructor for next fall’s incoming class.
