50 years ago (1958)
County Commissioner Sam Kraetz announced today that the new Snohomish County extension agent chairman was Allen Estep, a Garfield County agriculture expert. He would take the place of Arnold Smith, who was retiring after holding the post for 35 years.
The Officers Wives Club was having a meeting Tuesday afternoon in Paine Air Force Base Officers Club. Salyann Ragan would give a demonstration on floral and table arrangements including settings for breakfast, dinner and tea table, barbecue and buffet.
25 years ago (1983)
Boeing had shuffled managers in its Commercial Airplane Co., including the Everett plant, to emphasize sales campaigns and marketing. The reshuffling, effective immediately, included consolidation of the Everett-based 747 and 767 programs into a new Everett Division headed by Vice President Richard Albrecht, formerly vice president and general manager of the 747 division.
Charles Garneski of Everett was promoted to chief process engineer in the Technical Process Department at Scott Paper Co. Garneski joined the company as research chemical engineer in Philadelphia in 1970. He had been senior process engineer in technical process at the Everett plant since 1982.
