Students with 4.0 grade point averages for the winter term at Everett Junior College were Richard Ritchie, Jeanne Brodsack, Madeline Torvinen and Dorothy McKean, Everett; Danny Stillman and Randall Mason, Seattle; Vic Ruhl, Greenfield, Okla.; and Maurice Shelby, Knoxville, Tenn.
Barbara Mackey of Everett was to be honored at a reception in the Scottish Rite Temple. She was a member of the Grand Executive Board of the Grand Assembly, Order of Rainbow Girls, of Washington, Idaho and the Territory of Alaska.
25 years ago (1983)
Carole Goldberg and Lynn Lewis received the Golden Acorn award from Mukilteo Elementary School PTSA for their outstanding service to the school and community. They served as co-presidents of the PTSA during the past two school years and earned the People Taking Significant Action award for their work toward making Mukilteo Speedway safer for children.
The Granite Falls post office had an unexpected visitor when a car crashed through the wall of the building. Postmaster Art Levin said the full-sized car came through the east wall, next to the parking lot and was entirely inside the structure before it stopped.
