50 years ago (1958)
Snohomish County Peace Officer Association members worked on a “D-Days” poster advertising two upcoming annual events, the dance at the Windmill and the high school driving contest. Dance committee chair Elaine Oke worked on the posters. Looking on were Florence Richardson, Vic HolmÂquist, Capt. John Olson and Sgt. Cliff Gowler.
25 years ago (1983)
A drive of another sort, but also of significance in the county, was the Civic Music-Community Concerts annual membership campaign. Association president Ben Hansen said last year’s adult membership fee of $17.50 would be continued for next season’s four-concert series. Campaign headquarters were at Pioneer First Federal Savings at Everett and Colby avenues.
