50 years ago (1964)
Cadet James B. McCutchan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. McCutchan, 323 Heather Road, was graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on June 3. McCutchan, a 1960 Everett High School graduate, would be commissioned a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers.
Robert E. Taylor, district ranger, Monte Cristo District, Mt. Baker National Forest, announced this week that the pay-as-you-go plan for camping at Verlot and Gold Basin campgrounds would again be in use this season. Ticket vending machines for collection of the $1 fee would be in operation from June 13 to Sept. 7.
25 years ago (1989)
Ann E. Edwards had joined the Snohomish County PUD as project coordinator in information services. She was responsible for a management reporting system and project scheduling system as well as project planning for the information services division. Promoted within the division were Nancy Bloom and Jim Sorenson.
Eugene Yore was named vice president and general manager of the Marine Systems Division at Honeywell Inc. of Everett.Yore previously served as corporate director of both design automation and engineering and manufacturing productivity.
