Frances Gallagher was the Herald’s new social editor in charge of the Women’s Department. She came from the Evening News in Port Angeles.
25 years ago (1983)
Four young men had earned nominations to the military and naval academies from Sen. Slade Gorton. Military Academy nominees were Robert Allen Ivanjack of Everett, Cascade High School graduate; and Mark Alan McGee of Marysville, graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Naval Academy nominees were Larry Dean Earl Lambourn of Edmonds, a Mariner High School graduate; and Richard Lee Dixon Jr., a graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
