50 years ago (1964)
Plans for a September opening of the first A&P supermarket in Everett were announced today. The new store would be in a 15,000 square foot building, and construction would start May 25. The site was adjoining and just south of the House of Values on Evergreen Way.
Dan and Christine Cornell, children of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cornell, of Marysville, would be presented in a piano recital this Sunday in the home of their teacher, Carol Hadley, 319 Elm St. Dan had studied five years, and Christine two.
25 years ago (1989)
Everett Mutual Savings Bank began work on a new North Creek branch in the Marketplace Shopping Center and on a new building to house its Lake Stevens branch which would be located in Frontier Village. The North Creek branch was slated to open in October and the new Lake Stevens branch in September.
Ron Bliven, Dolores Cobb, Vicki Dalzell, Donna Gardiner, Jim Gates, Barbara Hillerbrand, Jan Mendoza, Karla Paffhouse, Candy Prentice and Larrie Werner were all new agents for Century 21 North Homes Realty Inc. in Everett.
