50 years ago (1958)
Ross DeMonbrun, Sam Champaign and Earl Nielsen, all of Everett, held up their new license plates they purchased from Clerk Bruce Matthews.
The sale of the state’s new plates opened with a bang today as auto owners formed a long line outside the auditor’s office. The new plates had a green background with three white letters followed by three white numbers.
The day after tomorrow was scheduled for the official dedication of the new Masonic Temple at Fifth and Columbia in Marysville. The ceremonies, open to all Masons and their families, would follow a banquet. Crystal Lodge No. 122 would be the host.
25 years ago (1983)
Everett Federal Savings and Loan Association was having open houses at all of their offices: Main at Hoyt and Wall, Madison, Silver Lake, Monroe, Edmonds-Lynnwood, Marysville, Snohomish, Arlington.
Directors were Paul G. Eklund, William Rucker, Michael E. Hansen, Maurice “Ole” Olson, Dewey Barnett, H.H. “Flip” Coyne and R. Micheal Kight.
Design on Broadway, 2531 Broadway, was the “intelligent alternative” with furniture of distinction. Rudy Wickstrom and his recognized interior design staff could translate your tastes and preferences into fine quality interiors.
