50 years ago (1957)
Lady Eagles Auxiliary of Snohomish Aerie No. 195 was to have a turkey smorgasbord dinner and Christmas bazaar in the dining room of the Eagles Hall. Muriel Cook was bazaar chair; Lois Crocker, dinner chair; and Monte Richards, publicity chair. The annual bazaar would feature gifts and a handmade quilt.
The new lodge on the Cedar Flats area of Mt. Pilchuck was nearing completion. Originally planned merely as a warming hut, the building under construction by the State Parks Commission was almost of lodge proportions and would have plenty of room for skiers making use of the new park this winter. Big windows afforded fine views in clear weather.
25 years ago (1982)
Chris Bustad, 8, of Marysville, won a visit from Santa Claus for his letter to Santa. He wanted a Coast Guard remote control boat and an army train set available at J.C. Penney’s.
For a limited time, Monday through Thursday, Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus Restaurants offered ranch specials for $5.95. These were complete top sirloin, teriyaki steak or prawn dinners.
