50 years ago (1957)
Trofast Lodge No. 231, Vasa Order, was having its annual Christmas party tomorrow in the CIO Hall. A potato sausage dinner would be served followed by a community sing and children’s program with Alvin Swanstrom as master of ceremonies. Lars Bystrom, recently re-elected as chairman of Trofast, headed the planning committee assisted by Eric Hoglund, John Peterson, Rudolph Hultman, Emil Feldin, Thyra Simmons, Lillie Berg, Gust Johnson, Jennie Hultman, Olive Feldin and Ann Brounty.
Everett Mothersingers held a Christmas party in the home of Beatrice Carlson, 1420 Grand Ave., with Corinne Williams, Effie Gemmer and Alice Wilbur assisting. Members and a number of former members exchanged gifts.
25 years ago (1982)
Loren Baker was in charge of a committee of Everett Rotarians, which recently delivered Christmas trees to children’s homes and adult rest homes.
Promoted in the Air Force to the rank of airman first class was Philip Weatherholt of Everett, an avionics systems specialist at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas.
