Downtown Everett was deco-rated; that is, rated on its art deco architecture. Architectural historian and author Lawrence Kreisman of Seattle was seeking out examples here. Some of the best examples were City Hall, the Kress Building that now housed Place Two, the Goldfinch Brothers building and the Everett Public Library. Art deco and moderne buildings provide a link between the Beaux Arts and International styles.
