50 years ago (1957)
Dr. J.W. Ebert Jr., was to address Silver Lake Preschool PTA at a meeting tomorrow afternoon on the after effects of the flu and other communicable diseases. Also planned for the afternoon was a “crazy” sale featuring handmade articles and homemade goods.
Featured performers with the Everett Civic Symphonette in its first concert of the season were Ann Uran and Wilmar Kohne. Uran was a Snohomish High School senior and Kohne an Everett High School junior. Both were students of Gene Nastri, noted Everett music teacher and concertmaster of the orchestra.
25 years ago (1982)
One block east of Broadway at 32nd and McDougall stood a monument to a time when train travel was in fashion. Passengers no longer stopped at the railroad depot anymore, but hundreds of hungry diners did. The Milwaukee Depot Cafe served delicious food in a unique surrounding. The chairs were of every size and shape.
LeRoy and Marian Vogel had had a trio of parrots visiting in their back yard at 8131 Xavier Way in South Everett for the past few days. The birds showed up the previous Saturday and had been around ever since chattering away and sticking together at all times.
