Gwynn’s Shoe Store was continuing its “removal sale” for a few more days. Gwynn’s was moving from the corner of Hewitt and Wetmore to 2812 Colby Ave. Christmas slippers for women, men, teens and children were drastically reduced. Ed Ross was the owner.
Safeway Stores’ newest addition here, a brand new supermarket on the west side of Evergreen Way just south of Madison Street, was scheduled to open tomorrow. Bill Dawson was the store manager, Gus Westlund the meat manager and Fred Chenier the produce manager. More than 75 Safeway employees would be on hand for the grand opening.
