50 years ago (1957)
Members of the Everett Junior College Madrigal Choir were rehearsing for their part in the college Christmas Vespers. Paul Giroux was their director. Members were Sandra Person, Lorenz Schmidt, Helen Hurn, Richard Moneymaker, Marsha Whitchurch, Dale Hamblin, Janet Carlson, Donna Gallant, Maurice Shelby, Bob Borden, Dorothy Thompson and Richard Jones.
A drawing of the new Thomle Bridge to be constructed over the Stillaguamish River near Stanwood was released this week. The new span, that would cost $111,000 according to Commissioner Sam Kraetz, would replace the present Thomle Bridge.
25 years ago (1982)
John and Martha Stiles were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at the Ramada Everett Pacific Hotel. Hosts were their daughter, Vicki McBride, and grandchildren, John and Shannon McBride, all of Alderwood Manor. The couple were married Dec. 18, 1932, in Everett.
