50 years ago (1957)
Among the Snohomish businesses wishing season’s greetings in The Herald were Carl’s Food Store, Mackie’s, Stuart Radio &TV, Kelley Cleaners, Arkinstall Dairy, Olsen Lumber, Rabenstein Chevron, J.C. Penney, Snohomish Cash Feed, Kinch Realty, Gilberton’s, Perry Electric, Patterson Studio, Piston Service, Bickford Motors, Neil Electric, Poier Motors, Hume Pontiac, King’s, DeSelle Appliance and Electric and Schenaker Electric.
Art Anderson of East Stanwood, president of the Twin City Sportsmen’s Association for the past two years, was elected for a third term at the December meeting of the group. Thelma Anderson, was also re-elected to the position of secretary-treasurer.
25 years ago (1982)
Myra Tedelberg, who was 91, donated a large box of items she knitted for the traditional Mitten Tree seen at Pionner First Federal Savings and Loan in Everett for the past 20 years. She had been donating to the tree for the past 10 years.
A special Christmas dinner for families and individuals would be served at the Everett Gospel Mission, 3007 Hewitt Ave., on Christmas Day. The Rev. Clyde Haynes, assistant mission director, encouraged families with children to come. People had been generous so the mission had plenty of food.
