50 years ago (1957)
Dr. James Otto, medical adviser to the Snohomish County Unit, American Cancer Society, discussed plans for participation by Snohomish County Home Demonstration Clubs with a Fight Cancer With a Checkup campaign. Representing the clubs were Mabel Schoenholz, Inez Hamilton, Pearl Brade and Dolly Lindell.
Fascinated by fish designs that Everett school art consultant Fred Messmer was explaining to them were Lowell School sixth-graders. They were part of a contingent of students who visited exhibits of the Pacific Northwest Arts and Crafts Association during its two-week stay in Everett.
25 years ago (1982)
Edward B. Eshe, a 1951 Everett High School graduate and district financial manager of the Seattle Army Corps of Engineers, was among 10 federal employees honored by the Seattle Federal Executive Board in its Employee of the Year program. Eshe received a plaque from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for his work with minorities, females and the handicapped.
