50 years ago (1957)
King’s Cafe and Tavern at 1309 Hewitt Ave. was having a grand opening after being remodeled. They received congratulations from Berry’s Meat Market, Hausmann’s Inc., Beleden Electric and Bargreen Coffee and Restaurant Equipment. King’s featured char-broiled steaks.
Four members of the Everett YMCA’s Junior Leaders’ Corps were attending the Northwest Junior Leaders’ conference at Seabeck on Hood Canal. They were Bill Pearson, Jerry Weber, Dick Knudson and Don Richards. They were accompanied by Everett Conley and Bill Rusk from the Everett “Y.”
25 years ago (1982)
John Wagner was the new director at the Everett YMCA. He had most recently been the director of a “Y” in Detroit. However, his appointment here was a homecoming as he had worked at the Everett “Y” about 20 years ago.
