50 years ago (1957)
Alfred Muller Jr. had become assistant administrator at General Hospital, according to administrator Cecile Tracy Spry. Prior to this appointment, Muller had been associated with St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. Muller, his wife and their 2-year-old son lived in Marysville.
Today’s issue of the paper was full of pictures of new fall fashions. Advertisers included Chaffee’s, Miller’s, Ward’s, Hull’s Town &Country, Chester Beard, Irwin Fine Furs, The Bon Marche, Burnett Bros., J.C. Penney’s, Home Shoe, Costello’s, Car-Lin Maternity, HyLo Fashions, Gebert’s, Hank Gaul’s, Hughes, Matthews Style Shoes, Hans Hagen, Wold’s, Sears, Frolich &Hurd, Gwynn’s and Friedlander and Sons.
25 years ago (1982)
Radio 123 and the Everett Chamber of Commerce were bringing the Princess Marguerite to Everett for a fall cruise to Victoria, B.C. Among the ticket locations were Humphrey VW, King Size Photo, Holiday Inn in south Everett, Lion’s Den at Smokey Point and Ely Hardware in Snohomish.
