50 years ago (1957)
Dr. Harold Waltz was the speaker when the Marysville Lions Club met in the B&M. The Everett surgeon described the eye examinations given a preschool child and told of the methods of solving eye problems.
Installations service for the Rev. Eugene Strinden, new minister at the Zion Lutheran Church, were conducted at the church, 24th and Wetmore.
25 years ago (1982)
There was a new wing open at View Ridge Elementary School that would help special education students. The facility centralized instruction and staff, yet allowed interaction with other students.
Oak Harbor High School had a new anchor to replace the one accidentally dropped off the Deception Pass bridge by a group of pranksters last June.
