Five Reserves received the congratulations of Lt. James Hayes along with their promotions to private first class. They were David Senter, Niles Williams and Phillip Johnson of Everett; Larry Porter of Lake Stevens; and John Norman of Alderwood Manor.
Bill Dunn was retiring from the Everett School District. He had held many positions, including fifth-grade teacher, Everett High School football coach, vocational director and director of construction. He was a 1942 graduate of Everett High. Dunn planned to spend much of retirement skiing with his wife, Patty.
