50 years ago (1957)

Everett’s Bon Marche store rolled out a new payroll savings plan for employees, the Bon’s Gene Kenyon said. Members of the savings plan committee were Florence Mathews, Frances Sanderson, Paul Karr, Gladys Weeks, Voila Achatz and Grace Douglas.

Joan Marlys Dancers were presenting “Kiddie Kapers” at thir annual Spring Revue at the Civic Auditorium. Taking part in a number were Margy Johnson, Karen Parker, Kathy King, bonnie Kalb, Peggy Bebich, Tonee Bebich and Janet Cunningham. Tickets were on sale at the box office.

25 years ago (1982)

Arnie’s Restaurant in Mukilteo was to get a $30,000 facelift this month, co-owner Peter Challman announced. It would include new seating and lighting arrangement to give the two-year-old restaurant a more intimate atmosphere. Everett artist Russ Lamb would do four wall sculptures.

Krista Watson, a junior at Mariner High School, would have an interesting summer working at “Petro’s Chips” food concession booth at the World’s Fair now running in Knoxville, Tenn.
