Three Everett High School seniors enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve last week and were now assigned to the Everett unit. They were Patrick Karl Monahan, Charles Wesley Byrd and Teddy Wayne Hazen. Chief Petty Officer Len Honeycutt was the Coast Guard recruiter.
Diane Black of Snohomish High School might be invincible at the discus throw. She stamped herself as one of the favorites at this year’s state meet when she took first place at the Sammamish Invitational with a winning throw of 135 feet, 2 inches.
