Officials of Washington Natural Gas Co. gathered at the Yacht Club’s Black Prince to say goodbye to Clarence Lasher, who recently retired after 33 with the firm and its predecessor. With Lasher were Charles Sturkey, president of the company, and Stan Winter, who succeeded Lasher as manager here in Everett.
Everett High School student Paul Crawford, 1401 Florida Drive, was declared a winner in a nationwide school student photographic competition. He was awarded three Honorable Mentions in Popular Photography magazine. His entries were black-and-white photos of the distinctive high school building.
Julie Grubb of Everett, a student at Washington State University, was one of six national dog-care winners whose pictures appeared in the latest issue of Purina Kennel News. She was also named the most outstanding 4-H exhibitor at last fall’s Evergreen State Fair.
Ronald Rodgers of Lynnwood was named the outstanding senior in agriculture education at Washington State University’s College of Agriculture. Among those WSU students earning scholarships in the Ag College was Belinda Gosser of Snohomish.
