The first life membership in Everett YMCA was given this week to Bobby Long, an Everett boy who lost his legs beneath a freight train in December. Clare Dobler, YMCA Board president made the presentation.
Linda Lewis, a Maple Leaf Blue Bird and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lewis, sold her first box of Camp Fire Mints to Police Chief George Nelson.
25 years ago (1982)
Everett-based Frontier Bank was to purchase the Bank of Arlington, subject to approval from the state supervisor of Banking and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Frontier’s Robert Dickson reported this week.
Melanie Easter, chairwoman of the Heather Unit of Ryther Four and Twenty Clubs, received a special certificate of appreciation at Quinn’s Restaurant. The clubs gave substantial support to the Ryther Child Center.
