50 years ago (1957)
Parker Williams, his wife, and their daughter, Tanis, of Everett were guests of Sen. Howard Bargreen and his wife and their children, Claudette “Teddy” and Howie, at the gala Inaugural Ball for Gov. Albert D. Rosellini and his wife. They were among the more than 3,000 who crowded into to the State Armory for the celebration. The Bargreens were living in Olympia during the legislative session.
United Realty Inc. was proud to announce that Elmer Dokken was associated with the company’s Marysville office at 1066 State Ave. in the real estate department as a licensed salesman. Dokken joined Ray Schneider, “Casey Jones,” and Ed Kellough.
25 years ago (1982)
Last year there was too little snow at ski areas and last weekend there was too much. Many couldn’t get to them. Bob Bibb was among the many who used the rainy lower areas for some soggy cross-country skiing.
Many people were dental chickens; that is, afraid of going to the dentist. They often had fears because of horror stories others had told them or because their teeth were in poor condition. Two local dentists trying to help patients overcome fear were Dr. Bob Lee of Everett and Dr. Gregory Gosch of Marysville.
