50 years ago (1956)

The Everett High School football squad had sweet revenge in Bellingham last night as the Seagulls trounced the Red Raiders on Battersby Field 27-7. Jack Leary led the Gulls, rolling up three touchdowns. The squad avenged its only loss of the season, when Bellingham beat the team by one point.

25 years ago (1981)

Dr. Paul Walker, president of Everett Community College, would lead the Everett Symphony Orchestra in the national anthem at its opening concert.

Winners of the Boy and Girl of the Month award were announced. They were Kurt Munnich and Jill Johnson of Everett, Andy Goetz and Lynette Dickson from Cascade, and David Novick and Gina Borya of Mariner.
